Amplitude vs Pendo
Amplitude vs Pendo

Amplitude vs Pendo.
Two suites, one missing layer.

The closest head-to-head in this category: both ship an Agent Analytics module, both cluster what users ask, and both now ship in-app guides. The gap that decides it is what happens after the cluster.

01positioning

Amplitude vs Pendo used to be analytics versus adoption. It isn't any more — Amplitude ships Guides and Surveys of its own, and both vendors launched an Agent Analytics module that reads conversations and ties agent usage back to retention and revenue. Pick on suite fit and pricing, because on agent analytics specifically they stop at the same place: a cluster with metrics attached, no single score for the agent, and no proof a fix worked.

Amplitude

Product analytics

Broad enterprise analytics with experimentation, session replay, and in-app Guides and Surveys. Its Agent Analytics evaluates every closed session against built-in signals — task completion, response quality, user intent, friction — plus custom evaluators you calibrate yourself.

Pendo

Digital adoption suite

Digital adoption suite with guides, onboarding, and product analytics. Its Agent Analytics groups what users ask into use cases, measures adoption and friction, and connects agent usage to retention, conversion, and revenue.

brizz

Agent analytics

Because Amplitude and Pendo converge on so much, the rows they both miss are the ones worth weighing. Neither rolls its findings into a single Agent Health Score, so nobody can say whether the agent is healthier this week than last. Neither weights an issue by what fixing it would actually move. And neither checks back: you ship the fix, and the tool that found the problem never confirms it went away. Brizz is built around those three.

Amplitude vs Pendo, answered

Choose Amplitude for depth in analysis — experimentation, session replay, and richer behavioural querying. Choose Pendo if in-app guidance and onboarding are the centre of your workflow and analytics supports them. Amplitude has closed much of the guides gap, so the decision is now mostly about which half you lead with rather than which capability you give up.

Amplitude, narrowly. Both cluster conversations into themes and connect agent usage to retention and revenue, but Amplitude also runs built-in signals on every closed session — task completion, response quality, user intent, friction — and lets you calibrate custom evaluators. Neither offers a single Agent Health Score or closed-loop fix verification.

Less than they used to. Amplitude ships Guides and Surveys, moving onto Pendo's ground — though guides are an add-on there and core to Pendo, which is worth pricing out — while Pendo has pushed further into analytics. For AI agents specifically they have converged almost completely: a module inside a broad suite that reports on clusters of conversations.

If improving the agent is the goal, yes. Both tell you the agent is used and roughly how it is landing. Neither scores each issue by its impact on overall agent health, and neither verifies that a shipped fix resolved the intent in later conversations. Keep your suite and add Brizz for that layer.
